Student volunteers have become an essential part of organising ISS conferences. They play a major role in executing structural tasks, especially during the conference. Among other things, we hand out and check badges, show participants where to find a paper session, restaurant, bathroom, or their lost water bottle, and help set up exciting demos.

We seek proactive, enthusiastic SVs to help us deliver a smooth, successful conference experience.

ISS 2026 is a fully in-person conference, with all the programme taking place on site in Turin. We’re looking for people eager to assist us with conference logistics and to ensure a smooth participation experience. Your tasks as an SV would include helping attendees and assisting speakers, photo coverage of sessions and keynotes, facilitating organisers, and generally serving as a point of contact for all conference attendees. You must have had student status for at least one semester during the academic year before the conference, or later, to qualify for the program (cutoff: Summer Semester 2024/25). We are more than happy to accept undergraduate, graduate, and PhD students. We need friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to help us out.

To become an ISS’26 SV, you will agree to a volunteer contract, in which you agree to:

  • Contribute up to 20 hours towards volunteer work during the conference
  • Attend an orientation session (dates TBA, likely on the day before the conference)
  • Be present throughout the conference days (including workshop days)

As a sign of gratitude for your commitment, we will waive your registration fee and organise unique opportunities to network with an international group of peers!!!

Don’t miss the opportunity to join this great team!

We are conducting a rolling application, so please take note of the deadlines below:
